When designing Detective Masahiro's weapon, it would be ideal if it was a sawn-off version of this. Of course the gun would never shoot straight again, but ideally that would be the best look in my mind. The gun Decker uses in BLADERUNNER was based on a sawn off rifle. The weapon of Detective Masahiro is also a scientifically impossible device that only works in the sci-fi world of the film. The gun in the film is also supposed to shoot lightning.
